Welcome to the Scoring Office
The Scoring Office provides an optical mark recognition scanning service for reading "bubble sheets." A major use of this service is to score and record item responses to tests. Instructors may use the GRADER III system for maintaining class records throughout the semester. GRADER III is a flexible instructional assessment system combining grade-keeping, test and item analysis, and feedback to students. The GRADER III system includes the facility to e-mail individual student feedback reports. The Grader III services are free for MSU courses. The Scoring Office scans non-test forms, including the Student Instructional Rating System (SIRS) and a wide variety of surveys.
The Scoring Office provides the following service areas:
- GRADER III grade-keeping system
- Item analysis and test analysis
- Student instructional rating systems
- Custom form design
- Optical mark recognition systems for instructional, administrative, and research data
- Statistical and psychometric consulting
